
Chelmsford High School announces Students of the Month for March

CHELMSFORD, Massachusetts (April 3, 2025) – Six seniors were recently honored as Chelmsford High School named its Lions Pride/Rotary Student of the Month recipients for March, announced CHS Principal Stephen Murray.
Students receiving recognition were Kathleen Doherty and Munawaru Kayemba from Emerson House, Chloe Arroco and Nathan Nguyen of Hawthorne House and Jayden Pacheco and Marco Lombardo from Whittier House.
Kathleen “Kay” Doherty
Described as “a resilient and determined student,” Doherty is currently enrolled in Modern World Literature, Precalculus, Nutrition, Human Rights, Unified PE, Workplace Experience and Career X Program.
An exceptional student-athlete, Doherty has participated in soccer and track and field, earning numerous accolades. This season she was named MVC First Team All-Conference, Lowell Sun First Team, Second Team Eastern Massachusetts and Most Valuable Player for CHS Girls Soccer.
In the future, Doherty plans to attend Salve Regina to major in Business Administration with the goal of becoming a commercial real estate agent.
She is the daughter of Kate and Brian Doherty.
Munawaru Kayemba
Currently enrolled in AP Biology, AP Spanish, Mock Trial and Trial Procedures, Product Design and Manufacturing, Precalculus, World Literature and Clay, Kayemba “works hard both in and out of the classroom.”
A standout student, Kayemba has earned membership in the Spanish National Honor Society and has completed the Seal of Biliteracy.
Kayemba actively participates in multiple extracurricular activities, including Mock Trial and Interact Club.
After graduating from CHS, Kayemba plans to attend a four-year college to study Biology with the hopes of going on to Dental School.
He is the son of Shamim Nalubega.
Chloe Arroco
Arroco is currently taking many rigorous courses including Honors Concert Choir, Modern World Literature, AP Psychology, Pre-Calculus, Reality Check, Honors Orchestra and AP Environmental Science.
Described as having “a calm and positive energy,” Arroco is a member of the National English Honor Society, where she proudly serves as a board member.
Arroco is a four-year member of The Thursdays, for which she is currently the co-president, as well as a performer with the CHS Theatre Guild and Jazz Band.
Her accolades include the Outstanding Vocal Percussion Award and the Outstanding Arrangement Award from the International Championship of High School A Cappella, as well as the Technical Excellence in Original Music and Vocal Score Award.
This fall, Arroco hopes to attend a four-year college and major in professional music.
She is the daughter of Christine and Dindo Arroco.
Nathan Nguyen
Nguyen is taking a challenging course load that includes AP French, AP Physics, AP Literature, Orchestra, AP Calculus and AP Computer Science.
“An exemplary student and role model to underclassmen,” Nguyen has been inducted into the National Honor Society (NHS) and the Science National Honor Society (SNHS).
In addition to being a member of the Math Team, Investing Club and Ecology Club, Nguyen is a Boy Scout and a musician in the Lowell Youth Orchestra.
In his free time, Nguyen volunteers with the Merrimack Valley Food Bank and the Chelmsford Recycling Committee.
In the fall, Nguyen plans to attend a four-year college to major in computer engineering, with hopes of entering into a field related to computer engineering or computer programming.
He is the son of Nga Le and Dung Nguyen.
Jayden Pacheco
“A student of high intellect,” Pacheco is currently enrolled in AP Literature and Composition, AP Computer Science Principles, AP Chemistry, AP Statistics, Honors Orchestra and Angels Demons, Heaven, Hell and Last Things.
Pacheco’s work and dedication in the classroom has earned him membership in NHS, World Language Honor Society, SNHS and the Tri-M Music Honor Society.
Outside the classroom, Pacheco is involved in many clubs and activities, serving as president of the Orchestra, board member of the Science Team and as a Freshman Mentor.
Pacheco was recently recognized as an Eagle Scout whose project focused on constructing a garden for the Chelmsford Open Space Stewardship organization.
He has also spent hundreds of hours volunteering with his Scout Troop and his orchestra groups for CPS music events.
Although his future plans are uncertain, Pacheco hopes to obtain his degree and continue his love for science and biology.
He is the son of Joao Pacheco and Roshelle Caldeira Pacheco.
Marco Lombardo
A strong student whose “potential is limitless,” Lombardo is currently enrolled in AP Psychology, AP Spanish Language and Culture, AP Environmental Science, Calculus 1, American History Through Film, Intro to Criminal Justice and Modern World Literature.
Also a terrific student-athlete, Lombardo is a member of NHS and has been named a MVC first team all-conference athlete for Cross Country, Indoor Track and Outdoor Track.
He is also a member of the Freshman Mentor Program.
Beyond CHS, Lombardo has stayed busy volunteering at the Chelmsford Public Library, the Bay State Marathon and with local events for his teams and NHS group.
Lombardo is currently undecided on what he would like to study and where he would like to attend school after leaving CHS.
He is the son of Leslie and Gary Lombardo.
