
Chelmsford High School announces Students of the Month for April

CHELMSFORD, Massachusetts (May 9, 2025) – Six seniors were recently honored as Chelmsford High School named its Lions Pride/Rotary Student of the Month recipients for April, announced CHS Principal Stephen Murray.
Students receiving recognition were Said Sadat and Zubair Sadat from Emerson House, Andrew Barber and Jillian Martin of Hawthorne House and Michael Cunningham and Amiyah Milona from Whittier House.
Amiyah Milona
Described as “extremely dedicated, hardworking and kind,” Milona is currently enrolled in AP Psychology, AP Research, Modern World Literature, Clay Studio, Calculus and Forensics.
She has earned membership into the National Honor Society (NHS), World Language Honor Society and Science National Honor Society (SNHS).
Milona is a three-sport athlete, competing on the CHS soccer, tennis and basketball teams.
She is also an active member of Class Reps and the Freshman Mentor program.
This fall, Milona will be attending John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City to continue her soccer career and major in Forensic Science under the Honor Program.
She is the daughter of Tonia and Christopher Milona.
Michael Cunningham
Cunningham is currently enrolled in AP Psychology, Modern World Literature, Civics, Quantitative Reasoning, Appreciating the Arts and Reality Check.
In addition to his studies, Cunningham, who “epitomizes what a student and classmate should be,” is very involved in the CHS community. He is a member of LIME, Space Club, Theatre Guild, Best Buddies, the CHS Rugby team and serves as a “coach” for Unified Basketball.
Although he is uncertain of where he will be attending college, Cunningham plans to get a Masters in Occupational Therapy or Special Education with a focus in Elementary Education.
He is the son of Alicia and Aaron Cunningham.
Said “Masih” Sadat
Described as “personable, compassionate, hardworking, and resilient,” Sadat is currently enrolled in Modern World Literature, ESL, Quantitative Reasoning, Advanced Physical Education, Nutrition and Criminal Justice.
A determined young man, Sadat has overcome much in his short life, arriving in this country hopeful even though he was confronted with the immense challenge of adapting to a new culture and learning a new language.
A standout athlete, Sadat is a key member of the Chelmsford High School Varsity Wrestling Team, serving as a mentor to his younger teammates.
Currently thriving in the CHS internship program, Sadat is gaining real-world experience while working for a local auto mechanic. This hands-on learning is directly aligned with his long-term goal of owning his own automotive garage.
He is the son of Said Zabihullah Sadat and Sayed Naqib Sadat.
Zubair Sadat
Sadat is currently enrolled in Sociology, ESL, Quantitative Reasoning, Advanced Physical Education, Nutrition, Appreciating the Arts and Physics.
Having arrived in this country with little more than hope and an open heart, Sadat faced challenges, most notably, the language barrier that made even the simplest of school tasks daunting.
Sadat poured himself into his academics, consistently striving for excellence while mastering English and adapting to a new culture, and has “truly embodied what it means to be a Chelmsford Lion.”
Currently thriving in our school’s internship program, Sadat works at a local auto mechanic shop. This hands-on experience has provided him with practical skills and insight as he works toward his dream of one day owning his own automotive garage.
He is the son of son of Sayed Zubair and Sayed Sadat.
Jillian Martin
Martin is taking an impressive lineup of courses, including Calculus, AP Psychology, Nutrition, Sociology, Anatomy and Physiology, Forensic Science, Tools and Woodworking, Modern World Literature, Unified Basketball and Workplace Experience.
She has been inducted into NHS and received the 2024 NFHCA High School Scholar of distinction and National Academic Squad recognition.
Martin is an active member of the GIVE club and Dean’s Council, and has served as a class representative all four years of high school.
“Not only a leader in the classroom, but also on the athletic fields,” Martin is a dedicated three-sport varsity athlete, competing in field hockey, track and lacrosse; she also participates in Unified Basketball and Best Buddies.
Beyond the halls of CHS, Martin dedicates her time to coaching youth field hockey and lacrosse, as well as volunteering at numerous town-wide events and fundraisers.
After graduation, Martin will be attending Merrimack College as part of the Honors Nursing Program.
She is the daughter of Lisa and Brad Martin.
Andrew Barber
“A dynamic and dedicated student,” Barber is taking a rigorous course load that includes AP Computer Science, AP Physics 1, AP Environmental Science, AP Calculus, Nutrition, Modern World Literature and Workplace Experience.
His hard work has resulted in induction into the NHS, SNHS, National Spanish Honor Society and the National African American Recognition Program.
Barber is a board member of the Coding Club, a CHS Tech Intern, co-captain of the Robotics Team, Sports Editor for CHSTv, a valued member of the Math Team and a participant in the Innovation Pathways IT program.
When not in school, Barber gives back to his community through his volunteer work as a camera operator for Grace Chapel.
In the fall, Barber will be attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he plans to major in Computer Science and minor in Data Science.
He is the son of Janielle Goolgar and Rayon Williams.
