It wasn’t long ago when Gable Gray was hurling a javelin in his backyard that he purchased on Facebook Marketplace.
The rising Chelmsford High senior is now committed to a Power 4 school to continue his track and field career and has grown into one of the most talented throwers in the nation.
What presented itself as an obstacle three years ago only opened the door for Gray to unlock his talent. A baseball player by trade, Gray broke his left arm and wasn’t able to catch with his left hand ahead of his freshman year at Chelmsford High. Gray — a pitcher and outfielder with a strong arm — searched for a way to keep his throwing arm in shape.
So he bought a javelin online. And for that Gray is forever grateful.
