For the past quarter century, Craig Vitale has been the face of Chelmsford High boys swimming.
So it became no surprise when his face lit up after Friday afternoon’s 100-58 Merrimack Valley Conference victory over Central Catholic when he collected his 100th career win as the Lions’ head coach.
“It was kind of surreal, honestly. Just thinking back on some of the big meets we had was cool. It’s my 14th year, and 100 wins is a lot, especially in swimming, when you only have a handful of meets every year,” he said. “It’s the kids who put everything together and win the meets. They deserve all the credit.”
