The Sun: Ridty Tauch, Chelmsford headline MVC boys volleyball all-stars

League champion Chelmsford swept the Merrimack Valley Conference’s Division 1 major award winners.
Selected as the division’s Player of the Year was sophomore Ridty Tauch, while his coach, Edgar Valdez, was named the Coach of the Year.
In Div. 2, Lawrence’s was picked as the Player of the Year and Hector Sanchez of Lawrence earned Coach of the Year honors. Lawrence captured the Div. 2 title.
As a sign of the league’s strength, six teams made the Div. 1 state tournament field and five – Chelmsford, Lowell, Methuen, North Andover and Lawrence – won their tournament openers.
