TEWKSBURY — Another classic Merrimack Valley clash is in the books.
While most of the area was still buzzing about Thursday evening’s nail-biter between Billerica and North Andover (the Indians escaped in overtime, 26-20), a competitive slate of league games remained.
But Chelmsford’s 28-21 victory over Div. 4 Super Bowl runner-up Tewksbury was pretty special as well at a packed Doucette Field.
It didn’t take long for the Redmen to strike. After several strong carries by Will Harrison and Dom Curreiri, they moved the ball inside the Lions’ 10-yard line. Harrison called his own number and sprinted into the end zone for a 6-yard touchdown. Teddy Vorreth booted the extra point, giving the Redmen a 7-0 advantage.
