CHS LIME 24-Hour Relay Raises More Than $5,000

Proceeds to benefit The Principal’s Fund, Wish Project among others

CHELMSFORD, MA (July 6, 2023) – Chelmsford High School’s Leaders in Motion Everywhere (LIME) club raised more than $5,000 at its annual 24-Hour Relay on Saturday and Sunday, May 20-21, to benefit various school and community causes.

The Relay began on the John R. Carson Memorial Track but was relocated to the gymnasium due to inclement weather. The rain did little to impact the spirit of the event as six entities benefitted from the proceeds:

“The relay went amazing, even though we had to move indoors due to the weather,” said junior Keira Miller, who spearheads the Relay’s publicity efforts. “There were a lot of volunteers from the LIME club who helped count laps and make announcements, so all in all it ran super smoothly, and everyone enjoyed it.”

The relay capped a busy, yet successful school year for LIME, which had raised more than $2,000 at its February In Tune talent show to benefit the Service Dog Project in Ipswich, Mass. Additionally, LIME held its annual Drive-Through Trick-or-Treating in October and sent regular volunteers to The Paul Center, which assists people with disabilities.

CHS freshmen return to school Tuesday, Aug. 29 while the rest of CHS students return Wednesday, Aug. 30.
