One foot changed Gable Gray’s life completely.

And it’s another foot (plus) that is next on his list of targets. One of the country’s best javelin throwers, the Chelmsford High senior is motivated to break the state record before he heads to Rutgers University on scholarship.

Don’t bet against him.

In the spring of 2023, Gray, an eighth-grader at the time, was a pretty good baseball player. During an at-bat, he got drilled by a pitch and broke his arm.

“I couldn’t catch anything (until the bone healed),” he said.

His father, Richard Gray, a former strength and conditioning instructor, came up with a plan to help his son stay in shape.
