Boston Globe: These cousins have won 37 regular-season matches in a row for Chelmsford volleyball teams

From an apartment in Lowell to the varsity teams at Chelmsford High, two volleyball-playing cousins are taking over courts in the Merrimack Valley.

Ridty Tauch first learned to serve a volleyball around age 7 or 8 on the gravel Pailin Courts in Lowell’s Cambodia Town. He played on grass with his parents, sister, cousin, aunt, and uncle in the yard. Camping trips to Cape Cod with family friends weren’t complete without games alongside barbecue cookouts.

The families moved to Chelmsford when he was in first grade, and a decade later, Tauch has the Lions off to a 7-0 start, beating Merrimack Valley Conference powers Lowell and Methuen without dropping a set and breaking into the Globe’s Top 10.
